THE LESSER SUNDA ISLANDS
Flores is one of the lesser islands in the Sunda archipelago, in Indonesia. This country, after Vietnam and Brazil, is currently the third world producer of Robusta coffee. This is the most widely grown type of coffee in Indonesia accounting for 80% of the overall national production.
The Robusta coffee production areas in Indonesia are: Southern Sumatra, Centre and South Java, South-East Sulawesi, West Flores, mountain areas between 900 and 1,200 mt., located between the Indian and the Pacific Oceans.
Indonesian coffees have unique features and creamy notes that give a good energy to the cup. Their persistent, intense body has no rivals among other Robusta coffees. When added in a small quantity in the espresso blend, it is perfect as a balancing component among the other coffees.
